Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Monday, September 3 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Due to the holiday, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies will be closed. Partner entities such as Denver Health will remain open Monday, September 3, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Monday, September 3 as well. Please see below for specific information on how city functions will be affected during these closures: 3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG AND DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the city’s information line for non-emergency services will be closed Monday, September 3. Service requests may be submitted via mobile device using Pocketgov or online atdenvergov.org/denver311. Updates are available continuously on www.denvergov.org.Programming will continue on Denver 8 TV. No meetings will be held during this week. ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL PROTECTION The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, September 3. Animal Protection Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce city regulations. AUDITOR’S OFFICE The Auditor’s Office will be closed Monday, September 3. BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Monday, September 3. No building inspections will be scheduled that day. CITY COUNCIL All Denver City Council offices will be closed Monday, September 3. There will be no meetings of City Council the week of September 3. CITY-OWNED GOLF FACILITIES Golf courses will be open on Monday, September 3, weather permitting. CLERK & RECORDER AND MARRIAGE LICENSES The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including marriage licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Monday, September 3. COURTS The Denver County Court will be closed Monday, September 3. The Denver County Court will not be hosting an Outreach Court session at the Denver Rescue Mission on Monday, September 3 due to the Labor Day holiday. All state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, will be closed. DENVER ARTS & VENUES All properties managed by Denver Arts & Venues, including Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center and Denver Coliseum, will be open for scheduled events and performances. Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, including the Visitor Center, Trading Post and Ship Rock Grille, will be open to visitors during regular hours. McNichols Civic Center Building will be closed Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3 due to the Taste of Colorado. DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES The five Denver County Motor Vehicle office locations will be closed Monday, September 3. For vehicle renewal online, visit the Denver Motor Vehicle website or pocketgov.com. DENVER HUMAN SERVICES Denver Human Services will be closed Monday, September 3, however the child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines will be open and taking calls. To report suspected child abuse or neglect call 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437) from anywhere in Colorado. To report elder abuse for an adult 70 years and older or the abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000. For all other adult protection calls, please call 720-944-4DHS (4347). ELECTIONS DIVISION The Denver Elections Division will be closed Monday, September 3. EXCISE & LICENSES Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed Monday, September 3. LIBRARIES All Denver Public Library locations will be closed Monday, September 3. The Westwood Branch Library will also be closed Saturday, September 1. Many of the library's resources remain available when the buildings are closed. OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES TALENT ACQUISITION TESTING AND NEW HIRE ONBOARDING The Office of Human Resources Talent Acquisition Testing Center will be closed Monday, September 3. Applicants will still be able to search and apply for open positions at www.denvergov.org/jobs. The Talent Acquisition front desk will also be closed Monday, September 3. New Hire Onboarding assistance and I-9 verification will resume on Tuesday, September 4. OFFICE OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER (CORONER) The Office of the Medical Examiner (Coroner) will be closed Monday, September 3. Office staffwill be available to respond to emergencies. PARKING METERS, CASHIERS AND MAGISTRATE Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized city holidays, and will be free Monday, September 3. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted and to follow all normal parking regulations all other days. The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office will be closed Monday, September 3. Parking violations may be disputed online at www.parksmartdenver.com – the citation number printed on the ticket is required. Payment may also be made by any of the following options:
PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS Public Works permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement office will be closed Monday, September 3. RECREATION CENTERS All Denver Recreation Centers will be closed on Monday, September 3. TRASH, RECYCLING & COMPOST COLLECTION Trash, recycling and composting will not be collected on Monday, September 3. Collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. VEHICLE IMPOUND FACILITY The Vehicle Impound Facility, 5160 York St., will be closed Monday, September 3. WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. 3rd Ave., will be closed Monday, September 3. WORKFORCE CENTERS All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed Monday, September 3.
