Denver Public Art dedication: “Sky Song” Levitt Pavilion Ribbon Cutting, Concert

7/18/2017

Denver Arts & Venues is proud to announce the latest addition to the city of Denver’s public art collection by Colorado artists Nick Geurts and Ryan Elmendorf. “Sky Song” will be dedicated as a part of the Grand Opening celebration for the newly built Levitt Pavilion Denver at Ruby Hill Park.

In addition, the event will include the first event in the Colorado Music series presented by Bonfils Blood Center, a concert with Andy Thomas’ Dust Heart, Halden Wofford and the Hi*Beams and headliner, Slim Cessna’s Auto Club.
  • What: Denver Arts & Venues Public Art dedication of “Sky Song” and grand opening of Levitt Pavilion Denver
  • When: Thursday, July 20; 6 p.m. doors open; 6:30 p.m. program; 7 p.m. free concert
  • Where: Levitt Pavilion, Ruby Hill Park, 1380 W. Florida Ave.
“Sky Song” is a two-part interactive sculpture, which blends light and sound through interaction with the viewer, and even the sky above. Comprised of mirror-polished stainless steel, “Sky Song” invites viewers to create music by pressing any combination of 33 buttons on an eight-foot-tall sculpture on the plaza. This kiosk linked to its companion piece 30 feet away on the building’s façade. During concerts at Levitt Pavilion, this interactive function transitions from sound to light. With 25 lights and bells, “Sky Song” is an endlessly engaging public artwork.

This event is free and open to the public. A full schedule of both free and paid shows can be found at www.levittdenver.org.
