The City of Denver believes in helping our youth find jobs. With emphasis on training, education and attainable goals, we believe that you'll find that Denver Workforce Services and our contractor partners offer a true way forward. One of the programs offered is the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The employment program takes the 16-to-21-year-olds through job readiness training where they learn about forming a resume, employer interviews, and how to dress appropriately for interviews and the job. Following that training youth will be placed into 120-hour paid ($9.37) internships within the private and public sectors. There are also opportunities for 14-to-15-year-olds.
We are looking for youth that are interested in the program to pre-register by April 7, 2017. After each youth complete the pre-registration, they will be contacted by staff for the next steps in mid-to-late-April. Please encourage youth to take a few minutes to complete this process to be considered for the 2017 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). Register here! Also, attend the summer youth Job Fair this Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 3-6 pm at the McNichols Civic Center Building. Comments are closed.
