Projects in the District
![]() Grandoozy Community Fund Parks & Rec and Public Works analyzed the projects suggested by the community and narrowed down the list based on feasibility. The projects with the most votes that will be implemented are:
Electrical Magic on S. Federal
Our office organized local Lucky District 7 artists to paint artwork on electrical boxes at seven different intersections between 6th and Florida on Federal as part of our submission to the Imagine 2020 challenge. These 7 locations were specifically chosen because they regularly contain graffiti. Since the art installation, there has been a dramatic reduction in graffiti. View all the box art here. |
![]() Broadway Rainbow Crosswalk
Buffalo Exchange Colorado, the Baker Broadway Merchant Association, and Councilwoman Robin Kniech worked with the Lucky District 7 office to install and raise funds for a rainbow crosswalk at Broadway and W Irvington Pl. The project is a visual demonstration of the neighborhood's spirit of inclusiveness and support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The Crosswalk won in the category of “Neighborhood Gem” in the 2018 Mayor’s Design Awards. Learn more about the project here. Jolon's Public Art Tour
Follow along Councilman Clark’s favorite public art pieces in Lucky District 7. Take the tour, which includes pieces from the Public Art Collection, special programs like IMAGINE 2020 District Challenge and other pieces in his district. |
![]() Broadway Parade
Bringing together neighbors and businesses, the Broadway Halloween Parade is a new annual tradition started by Councilman Clark and the Broadway Merchants Association. Stretching from 5th to Alameda, the parade shuts down Broadway and features dozens of spooky non-profit and organization floats. Hundreds of volunteers and businesses contribute to make the parade a huge success. To learn more including sponsorship options visit thebroadwayhalloweenparade.com. |
Lucky District 7 Fairy Doors
In 2017, Mayor Hancock challenged City Council to infuse arts and culture into their districts. Councilman Clark accepted the challenge and hired three local artists to design and installed fairy doors (tiny, exquisite doors) at hidden locations at South Pearl businesses. You can learn about the arts and explore the fairy door map here. In 2019, we hosted a workshop for community members to create their own doors and install at their favorite locations around the district. You never know when you might run across a new fairy door! |
