Ruby Hill Phase 3 – Outdoor Recreation Building and Surrounding Park Improvements
The current phase of the project includes a concept plan for a new Outdoor Recreation Building and adjacent park improvements. DPR and Design Workshop will be conducting public engagement to verify that the current master plan direction is still valid, determine the building location, review the site layout, and prepare preliminary cost estimates.
The Outdoor Recreation Building is the main focus of this design effort and the design is intended to reflect the current needs of public users and Parks and Recreation staff. The current building concept includes equipment rentals and returns, offices, storage, and restrooms. Additional input will likely change the needs of the program to include classrooms and additional public plaza space and desires to be an all-season facility.
The adjacent site improvements are intended to be complimentary improvements to the Outdoor Recreation Building and may include an adventure path and a place to learn about beginner biking. Currently, the planned site program of this area of Ruby Hill includes a splash pad, picnic areas, parking, trails, and basketball courts. As this design evolves and community input is received, these program elements may be adjusted to meet the changing needs of the park users.
